CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — The Department of Tourism (DOT)–2 has declared the Cagayan Valley Research Center (CVRC) as agri-ecotourism farm destination in Region 2.
CVRC is located in two sites – the main office at San Felipe and its annex at Baligatan in the City of Ilagan.
The declaration was made by DOT – 2 Tourism Operations Officer Imelda Garduque of DOT – 2 during the recent launching of the CVRC demonstration farm at Baligatan, City of Ilagan as part of the city’s Mammangi festival celebration.
CVRC is now the city’s third tourist spots aside from the Ilagan Sanctuary and the Japanese War Tunnel.
Garduque said the CVRC is the first accredited agro-ecotourism farm in the region due to its promotion of organic farming, presence of pasalubong center, and other amenities where tourists can appreciate the area.
Maryrose Aquino, CVRC head, invites tourists and farmers to see the area and witness how the research center grows organic vegetables and other agriculture products.
“We invite tourists and farmers from our neighboring localities to come and visit the Cagayan Valley Research Center where organically–grown agriculture products are available,” she said. PNA/northboundasia.com
