LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — As part of this year’s Rabies Awareness Celebration this month of March, the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) is inviting all dog owners to let their pets join the Dog Fun Walk to be held on March 16 at the Provincial Capitol Compound here.
Dr. Eric Jose C. Perez, Provincial Veterinarian, said the activity, which is expected to register around 120 participants, primarily aims to promote responsible pet ownership among Pangasinenses.
Anchored on the theme, “End Rabies, Now Na,” Perez said that anti-rabies vaccination had been a regular activity of the provincial government alongside with lectures that were undertaken by field personnel, specifically in remote areas to further educate pet owners all over the province.
Perez said that the activity, would take place at the Capitol Compound at exactly 7:30 a.m.
Assembly area will be in front of the Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO).
Participants will then walk up to the finish line which is at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center (PTDC).
The mechanics of the activity are as follows:
1. All participating pets must be vaccinated and fit to join the fun walk;
2. There will be four stations installed in the areas wherein participants shall receive freebies upon arrival at the station;
3. Pet owners are not allowed to carry/lift their dogs during the fun walk;
