SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union–The Department of Education regional office 1 has activated the Regional Oplan Balik Eskwela Information and Action Center (R-OBEIAC) in line with the program of DepEd to ensure the smooth opening of classes on June 13.
Darius C. Nieto, DepEd Project Development Officer IV, said the DepEd Central Office earlier activated the OBE center and the Public Assistance Station (PAS) to address all issues and concerns commonly encountered at the start of the school year and to ensure that already enrolled pupils would be able to attend the first day of school.
Dr. Alma Ruby C. Torio, DepEd Regional Director, directed the R-OBEIAC headed by Assistant Regional Director Bettina Aquino, and the Schools Division Superintendents, to actively participate in the conduct of information and complaints processing and in providing routing mechanism in the region which is the objective of the center.
With Aquino as head, R-OBEIAC is composed of Division Chiefs and heads of different units.
Meanwhile, DepEd Regional Office is preparing for this year’s Brigada Eskwela on May 30 to June 4, where School heads are empowered to tap internal and external partners in repairing and fixing school rooms and cleaning school campuses prior to the return of pupils and students to their classrooms.
Records show that since the start of the program in 2003, school heads, personnel of National Government Agencies and Local Government Units (LGU), parents, and other stakeholders relentlessly supported Brigada Eskwela that aims to bring better learning opportunities to learners.
