MANILA -– Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Ronald Dela Rosa is encouraging PNP regional directors nationwide to “triple” their efforts to ensure a successful all-out war against illegal drugs.
In an ambush interview on Wednesday, Dela Rosa said he has issued “full encouragement for the PNP regional directors to do some more, double or triple their efforts because we are already almost two months less from our six-month time frame.”
”So, bawas na yung dalawang buwan…, baka gagahulin tayo sa oras, kaya ang advice ko sa kanila: double or triple their efforts so that we will be successful in our war against drugs,” he added.
On the performance of the PNP regional directors, Dela Rosa said it is okay so far. “If the basis will be my standard, they are performing very well.”
However, he said that if the basis will be the six-month target, some of them are lagging behind so they have to double or triple their efforts.
At the same time, the PNP chief warned that “I will relieve them if they cannot measure up to our expectations.”
He added that he has tasked PNP Deputy Chief for Operations (DCO) Gen. Benjamin Magalong to rate the regional directors to evaluate their performance. PNA/northboundasia.com
