Dagupan prepares for Tropical Storm ‘Karen’

DAGUPAN CITY — Dagupan City Administrator Farah Decano called to a meeting all members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) Friday afternoon to alert them on the coming Tropical Storm “Karen” which, as of 5:00 p.m. Friday threatened Catanduanes province and may hit Pangasinan soon.

The meeting held at the City Museum was attended by CDRRM Officer Ronald de Guzman, Public Order and Safety Office Chief Carlito Ocampo, Chief Inspector Bernabe Ramos, representing the Dagupan City Police, and City Social Welfare Officer Leah Aquino and OIC City Health Officer Dr. Shiela Sabado.

Decano stressed the need to preposition assets and personnel of the city government for possible rescue operation in case the storm worsens and triggers flooding that may threaten the lives of Dagupenos.

She called on all member agencies of the CDRRMC to be on their toes if the typhoon maintains its course and hits Central Luzon, including the province of Pangasinan. PNA-northboundasia.com
