Department of Agriculture (DA) sets two measures for helping increase production and income in the Philippine agricultural and fisheries sector. As part of government’s marketing assistance to the sector, the agency will spearhead establishing a nationwide network of outlets where farmers and fisherfolk can directly sell their produce to the public at farm gate prices benefiting both sellers and buyers, said DA chief Emmanuel Pinol in a press conference held at DA Conference Room, Elliptical Road Diliman, Quezon City on Tuesday (July 25, 2017). “We expect bountiful harvest this cropping season. huwag lang tayong tamaan ng matinding kalamidad this year,” he added.
