BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya — Department of Agriculture(DA) Secretary Proceso Alcala will be giving more funds to the province to further improve the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural Terminal(NVAT) in barangay Almaguer North here.
Governor Ruth Padilla said Alcala recently made the Php 10-million funding commitment to fully develop the access road leading to and outside the NVAT.
She said the provincial government was also setting aside Php 5 million as its counterpart fund, including utilization of heavy equipments and additional manpower.
“This is again a product of our positive networking with agencies of the national government so that we can push the full development of our public projects that will benefit the agricultural sector,” Padilla said.
She said the province was truly blessed because of the gains and achievements posted by the NVAT since its transformation in 2014.
Padilla said the DA had already included NVAT as one of its Agri-Pinoy Trading Centers(APTCs) in the country worthy of government support and assistance.
Aside from its improving and expanding services and financial growth, NVAT also garnered national recognition this year as one of the Galing Pook Awardees by the Galing Pook Foundation because of its innovative pro-farmer programs, projects and services. PNA/northboundasia.com
