CAMP BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad –- The Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO-Cor) reported the arrest of five Top Most Wanted Persons (TMWPs) and twenty-one other MWPs.
PRO-Cor chief, PCSupt Elmo Francis Sarona on Tuesday, February 28 identified the number one TMWP in Dolores, Abra as Gary Talingdan Peralta, 36, unemployed. He was nabbed in his residence at Marulas-A, Barangay 36, Caloocan City on February 25, thru the combined forces of the Dolores MPS and the Caloocan City Police Office by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) issued by Judge Raphiel F. Alzate of RTC, Branch 1, Bangued for violation of (RA 9262) Violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children act of 2004 and (RA7610) Protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination with bail recommended at PhP104,000.
TMWP of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 1 Jefferson Erenio Saroy, 37, driver, native of Tublay, Benguet and a resident of North Sanitary Camp, Baguio City was arrested at Upper Kayang Street, Baguio City on February 22.
Judge Leody M. Opolinto, Municipal Trial Court (MTC), First Judicial Region Branch 3 Baguio City, recommended bail bond of PhP12,000.
On the same day, Carol Bordo Apil, 57, was also arrested along Kayang Street, charged with estafa.
Judge Maria Ligaya V. Itliong Rivera, Regional Trial Court (RTC), First Judicial Region Branch 5, Baguio City recommended bail of PhP80,000 for Apil.
Personnel of Buguias MPS, Benguet PPSC, RIU-14 and CIDG-Benguet arrested the 7th TMWP charged with theft identified as Albert Carlos Pingi, 28, farmer and a resident of Virac, Itogon, Benguet was arrested at Sookan, Bakun, Benguet on February 20 by virtue of a WOA issued by Judge Sergio T. Angnganay, RTC Br 64 and MTC of Bakun-Buguias, Benguet with recommended bail of PhP20,000.
The 6th TMWP of BCPO Station 3 charged with theft was identified as Jewel Mallari Sicat a.k.a Mark David, 19, call center agent, a native of San Roque, Tarlac City and residing at Salud Mitra village, Baguio City. He was arrested in front of Abanao Square, Baguio City on February 25 by virtue of a WOA issued by Judge Cecilia Corazon S. Dulay-Archog, RTC, First Judicial Region Branch 6, Baguio City with a PhP50,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty.
Twenty one (21) more MWPs were separately arrested with pending charges ranging from Theft and Estafa.
Sarona said the successful arrest of the MWPs in the region connotes the stronger campaign of the PRO-Cor to maintain peace and order in provinces of the region.
“We must sustain our relentless efforts in arresting all wanted persons and make headway on anti-criminality operations to better serve and protect our people and make our region the safest place to live, work and do business,” Sarona said.
All arrested TMWPs and WMPs are now under the custody of the concerned units for documentation prior to turnover to the issuing court. Dionisio Dennis/PNA-northboundasia.com
