BUTUAN CITY — Joint operatives of the City’s elite Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group and the Special Weapons and Tactics seized more than Php 2 million worth of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, or shabu, during a raid on a business stall at Langihan Public Market, this city on Tuesday afternoon.
The drug raid was authorized based on a search warrant issued by Hon. Judge Godofredo B. Abul, of the Regional Trial Court Branch 4 in Butuan City.
The raiding team, led by Supt. Rowena A. Martinez, arrested Baelawan G. Rascal, 24; resident of Brgy. Ong Yiu during the implementation of the search warrant at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
Seized from Rascal were 200 grams of suspected shabu with estimated value of Php 2.3 million based on the market price set by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DBB).
Rascal also known as “Bae” is Number 1 in the target list for illegal drugs of Butuan City Police Office. A tipster tipped the police that Rascal was supplying illegal drugs to some users and even pushers here in the city.
Rascal is now under the custody of Butuan City Police Office and charges on violation of R.A. 9165 or (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002). PNA/northboundasia.com
