KORONADAL CITY — Nine persons have been jailed and are now facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 following an intensified police campaign against illegal drugs on Saturday.
Four persons, including a female, have been arrested during a raid led by Koronadal City police director Senior Supt. Barney Condes in Puork Katipunan, Barangay Gen. Paulino Santos at about 1:00 p.m.
Barney said the suspects were caught in the act of conducting pot session.
He identified them as Jeres Llagas Fajimolin, Jario Talento Nalon, Mark Valenzuela Nalon and Lovelie Pearl Angel Magan.
The raiding team recovered a caliber 38 revolver, ammunition, suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and shabu paraphernalia.
Barney said a concerned citizen alerted the police about the on-going pot session in Barangay Gen. Paulino Santos. After the report was confirmed, a raid was hatched and carried out successfully.
Also on Saturday, the Koronadal City anti-drug council backed by the city police raided a lodging house where five persons were caught red hand using prohibited drugs in Barangay Sta Cruz.
Arrested were Ryan Debloez, 19, Eduardo Dolendo, 45, Jeffrey Prinsesa, 34, all residents of Barangay Santa Cruz. Also arrested were Ruby Galvez, 20 and Michelle Jose, 20 of Barangay Magsaysay.
Glorio Sandig, Koronadal City Anti Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), said the lodge owner who happened to be a police officer alerted the city anti-drug body about the on-going pot session.
The suspects, Sandig said, were surprised when lawmen barged inside one of the rooms of Sky Inn lodge at 10 p.m.
Seized from the suspects were several sachets of shabu, marijuana and illegal drug paraphernalia.
Barney said one of the suspects, a certain Jeffrey Prinsea, was in the PNP illegal drug watch list.
