Cop, suspected drug pusher dead in an encounter in Laguna

SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna — A member of the Anti-Illegal Drug Group (AIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) stationed at Camp Crame, Quezon City and a suspected drug pusher were killed during an anti-illegal drugs entrapment operation on Sunday (April 3) at San Antonio Village here.

According to Police Supt. Ericson Dilag, San Pedro City chief of police, the AIDG led by Police Insp. Kenneth Bautista conducted an anti-illegal drug entrapment in the city when two men riding on a motorcycle fired upon the team that resulted in an exchange of gun fire.

SPO1 Justino Flores was hit on the face and died after more than an hour in the hospital while suspect Danilo Ravelo Viaje, 36, married, a resident of Cuyab Village in this city died on the spot. The other suspect managed to escape from the operating team.

Recovered from the killed suspect were a plastic sachet containing ‘shabu’, boodle money amounting to Php 1.2 million and a caliber 38 pistol.Dick Garay/PNA/
