Col. Wilson Joseph Lopez, provincial director of Pangasinan police, confirmed the incident Wednesday morning in an interview.
“The victim identified as Police Corporal Rogeron Ramirez was speaking with his live-in partner in front of their house here Tuesday afternoon, when allegedly he was approached by the suspects Jose de Guzman, 59, and Diosdado Castro, 55, who drew out a 12-gauge shotgun and shot the victim from behind,” Lopez said.
The suspects immediately fled, while Ramirez was immediately rushed to the Virgen Milagrosa Medical Center, and later on transferred to Villaflor Hospital in Dagupan City.
Ramirez died Tuesday evening.
Lt. Col. Rollyfer Capoquian, San Carlos City Police chief, said the suspects were arrested after a manhunt operation.
“The suspects were arrested while they are in their respective houses. They did not resist nor put up a fight. They, however, did not admit doing the crime,” Capoquian said in an interview.
He added they are looking at personal grudge as the possible motive in the killing of the policeman, while a case of murder will be filed against the suspects. Ahikam Pasion /PNA – northboundasia.com
