BAGUIO CITY –- Baguio City government’s Management Information System – Information Technology Office (ITO) under Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Mario Diaz is in the process of completing the computerization of the General Services Office (GSO).
Diaz on Wednesday, April 4, said they are now re-engineering the process for the set-up of an online procurement system to streamline the procedures without going against the provisions of Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Reform Act.
The computerization will enhance the GSO’s core development system which will include its records and processes.
The city government is working on the set-up of the General Services Office Information System (GSOIS) to automate all office processes and streamline the procurement, inventory and asset management functions of the GSO.
Diaz said the GSOIS is the latest phase in the computerization program of the city government after the completion of the Real Property Tax Assessment and Computation System (RPTACS), the electronic Business Permit and Licensing System (e-BPLS), payroll, leave administration, biometrics or time-keeper systems and of late the Legislative Tracking and Information System.
He said the development of the system started last September and is expected to be completed within the year.
Diaz said the GSOIS and website upgrading are expected to make the service “more efficient, fast, reliable and transparent” as part of the city’s thrusts. PNA/northboundasia.com
