LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Classes have been suspended in all levels, while some up to senior high school only, in 23 towns and cities in the province, the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) said on Thursday.
Classes have been suspended in Lingayen, Aguilar, Basista, Binmaley, Mangaldan, Calasiao, Bugallon, Dagupan City, Urbiztondo, Mangatarem, Dasol, Bayambang, San Carlos City, Infanta, Bolinao, Labrador, Bani, Bautista, Mabini, Anda, Manaoag, Burgos and Sta. Barbara.
The announcements of class suspensions were posted in the local government units’ official Facebook pages.
“Infanta town was the first to suspend classes since Wednesday, while some other towns and cities have followed on Thursday,” said Patrick Aquino, operation staff of the PDRRMO, in an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Thursday.
The latest class suspension announcements were made by municipal government offices of Burgos and Manaoag respectively, said Aquino.
Fishermen are advised against going out into the sea as a gale warning has also been issued due to strong to gale force winds, causing rough to very rough sea condition, with wave heights from 2.8 meters to 4.5 meters, based from the PDRRMO Gale Warning Advisory.
