SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Feb 26 – The City Government led by Mayor Pablo Ortega, in coordination with the City Health Office, has already made preparations to implement various programs and campaigns in preventing expected summer illnesses, particularly chicken pox, measles, and sore eyes, the most common during the summer season.
Immunization and health education on sickness prevention will be conducted in the city’s 59 barangays including dental and medical services and vaccination for children and infants from 0-59 months old.
The said government programs are to be disseminated in all the villages so people will not miss these services, according to the city health office.
“San Fernando City has always been an inclusive city, so we make sure that our communities are always informed about these programs,” Emily Laroya, supervising nurse of the city health office, said.
She said that nobody should be left behind regarding the immunization campaigns and health education and information dissemination about combating illnesses that are rampant in the summer months.
“Water dehydration and heat stroke are also common, so we advise everyone to always drink water and see to it that they have it wherever they are ,” Laroya said,
Aside from the immunization campaign, free circumcision will be available during the implementation of the programs.
