CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela — The city government of Cauayan has allotted a total of P3.7 million to finance the expenses of athletes and delegates from the city to compete during the Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) meet.
Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy said the assistance is part of the city government program to enhance the sports potentials and capabilities of athletes from the city to excel in their respective line of sports.
Alexander Domingo, DepEd–Cauayan City sports coordinator, said the amount that is provided by city government will be utilized for training, food expenses, transportation, medicines, uniforms, allowances and other needs of athletes.
Domingo said there are 300 athletes coming from elementary and secondary schools in the city that will compete on various sports events during the CAVRAA.
The DepEd official said the city sports delegation aims to grab gold medals during the CAVRAA considering the full support extended by the city government.
The CAVRAA sports meet will be conducted at the City of Ilagan on February 27 – March 2 where delegations from the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Isabela, Cagayan, Batanes, Tuguegarao City, Santiago City and Cauayan City will compete. PNA / northboundasia.com
