CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — The city election office here is closely monitoring the posting of campaign materials after the campaign period for the May 2016 national candidates officially commended last February 9.
City election officer lawyer Irvin Calauad said the city election office has coordinated with the city government, village officials and the police to closely monitor the posting of campaign materials as these are prohibited from being put on trees and electric posts.
So far there have been no violations of this rule, he said.
The city election office has identified the common poster areas and these include the front of the City of Ilagan Sports Complex, Bliss Village Park, Bonifacio Park, Rizal Park, Guinatan Park, Quirino Park; corner streets going to Fugo and Aggasian to San Antonio, to Sana Victoria, to Morado, and to San Pablo; and all village halls.
Calauad said they will strictly monitor posting of campaign materials to ensure that election laws are properly observed, as the city expects visitors from provinces in the region in line with its hosting of this year’s Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) meet.
Earlier, the city government urged villages and volunteers to conduct clean-up drives along the national, provincial and city roads ahead of the CAVRAA meet. PNA/northboundasia.com
