BAGUIO CITY – – Business owners in this city are thankful to the Office of Civil Defense-Cordillera Administrative Region (OCD-CAR) for its information drive about earthquake.

Last Wednesday, OCD started putting up posters on “How to Survive an Earthquake” in business establishments along Session Road, a main thoroughfare here, as part of its information, education and communication campaign.

Peter Perez, a store manager, said he is thankful for the OCD campaign “because Baguio (City) is an earthquake prone area and is surrounded by faultlines.”

OCD-CAR Assistant Regional Director Jose Valera, in a separate interview, Friday said they chose to put the posters in restaurants and fast food chains along the busy street to maximize the campaign since people frequent these places.

He said they are also taking advantage of the Baguio Flower Festival, as thousands of tourists come to the city everyday.

He said OCD is glad with the response of the people and the business establishment owners.

“Every day is the best day for us to be reminded with this kind of information for our own safety,” he said.

The OCD chief here said establishments located in the Central Business District (CBD) will be given framed posters in the coming days. PNA/
