CEBU CITY — The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) has seized some Php 11.211 million worth of illegal drugs in a week-long simultaneous operation last month, an official said.
CPPO Director Clifford Gairanod bared this during the “Limpyo Probinsiya” (Clean Province) forum Tuesday which was attended by all police chiefs from different local government units.
The forum was also attended by Cebu Governor Hilario Davide III and Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPDAO) executive director Carmen Ivy Durano-Meca.
Newly-installed Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 Director Chief Supt. Noli Taliño was their guest.
Gairanod said the police stations conducted 83 operations.
He said 136 suspects were arrested and five were killed for resisting arrest.
Taliño said they were following a timeline of three to six months to eliminate illegal drugs in their areas.
Taliño said they first have a target list, which must be validated.
Once confirmed, he said, the police would hunt them down.
“We will go after all of them. They will surrender, they will be jailed, they will get killed, that’s it,” Talino said. PNA/ northboundasia.com
