TUGUEGARAO CITY-The barangay chairpersons’ league federation president has been in critical condition after he was attacked by armed men on Wednesday noon in Barangay Minanga, Iguig, Cagayan, police said.
Iguig Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) federation president Mario Tangaro, also San Isidro village chief, is still under observation at the intensive care unit of a private hospital here after an hour-long operation to remove bullets lodged in his body.
Tangaro reportedly managed to tell confidants before he lapsed into a coma that the gunman, who used a Cal.45 handgun, had flagged him down while he was using his motorcycle on his way home after attending the town council session as ex-officio council member. The gunman pulled out his gun and shot him at close range. Villamor Visaya/PNA-northboundasia.com
