Boracay welcomes first cruise ship for this year

BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan — This resort island welcomed passengers and crews of MS Seabourn Sojourn, the first luxury cruise ship to dock here this year.

Visiting for the third time, MS Seabourn Sojourn carried 436 cruise passengers composed of European, British and Americans; and 320 crew members.

The cruise ship started to dock in Boracay at 10 a.m. Saturday. They will stay in the island until 6 p.m.

The passengers were welcomed by representatives from the Department of Tourism-Boracay and from the local government and tour operators at Cagban Port.

Ati-atihan dancers also entertained the guests during their arrival at the port.

The cruise passengers have the option to experience island hopping tour, a visit in different sites in the island or to just enjoy the beach.

For their send-off, a rondalya presentation will entertain the cruise passengers.

After Boracay, the cruise ship will sail to Manila and Palawan.

The cruise ship also docked in Hundred Islands in Pangasinan prior to its Boracay visit.

After the Philippines, it will sail to its final destination, which is Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia.

At least 15 cruise ships are scheduled to visit Boracay this year.
