Binay vows to hold office in Cebu if elected president

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Vice President Jejomar Binay, presidential candidate of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), on Tuesday vowed to hold office at the Malacañang sa Sugbo, which is located near the Plaza Independencia in Cebu City, if elected president in the May 9 elections.

Binay said holding office at the Malacanang sa Sugbo, a former Customs building, will allow him to personally supervise the delivery of government services in Cebu and the rest of southern Philippines.

Binay said that for 2017, the delivery of services will be rapid because he will use government savings amounting to PHP700 billion.

Binay was in Cebu Tuesday to lead the proclamation of candidates who are his allies in two major cities.

He first went to Toledo City in Cebu’s western seaboard to attend a rally organized by reelectionist Mayor Sonny Osmeña.

The rally was also attended by Rep. Gwen Garcia (Cebu, third district) of One Cebu Party.

One Cebu Party ended its alliance with Binay’s UNA last week, but Garcia, One Cebu founder, said she will continue to support Binay.

Binay later went to Cebu City to attend the proclamation rally of another ally, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and the candidates of Team Rama at the Plaza Independencia Tuesday night. PNA/northboundasia.com
