BINAY MEETS WITH LA UNION LP MAYORS

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Vice- President Jejomar Binay met with local officials in a private meeting Friday night at the residence of Second District Rep. Franny Eriguel in Agoo town with some members of the Liberal Party in attendance.

A reliable source said that at least three LP town mayors and a provincial board member of the Second District of La Union attended the meeting including four town mayors of the First District.

Also present were  Abono Partylist Rep. Francisco Emmanuel Ortega III, an independent candidate for Governor who was adopted by the LP as its standard bearer bet, along with his running mate Vice- Governor Aureo Nisce, also an LP member.

Binay on Saturday also made sorties in the First District, where all the incumbent mayors are LP members, and held boodle fights –style of eating on long tables–in San Fernando City, Balaoan and Bacnotan.

San Fernando City Mayor Pablo Ortega, the LP’s congressional bet, was out of the country but city officials led by Councilors Ramon Ortega and Joseph De Guzman joined Binay in a boodle fight at the public market here.

In a press conference at the Oasis Resort here, Binay, presidential bet of the United Nationalist Alliance, lambasted Mar Roxas, saying that the LP presidential candidate was among those who conspired to destroy him and his family.

“He (Mar) is part of a demolition by perception (against me and my family). Whether you are guilty or not (with the charges), it’s only the court that makes the decision. Anyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty,” Binay said.

Binay held a whole day sorties in the Second District on Friday and ended his visit at Tubao town Saturday evening during the centennial celebration of San Alberto Magno Academy.

Binay was joined by UNA senatorial candidates Gen.Getulio Napeñas (retired), Actress Alma Moreno and Lawyer Allan Montaño.  JUN ELIAS/NorthboundPH
