Manila North Tollways Corporation’s (MNTC) received the grand prize in the Big Float Category for the most beautiful floral float for the second time.
MNTC’s “Beauty of the Wilderness” was among 10 entries that vied for the win in the Big Float Category.
Sitel Philippines Corporation’s float which portrayed a well-cultured and vegetated village with garden gnomes as main characters, came in second.
Department of Tourism – Cordillera Regional Office (DOT-CAR) float came in third, carrying the theme of the tourism redevelopment and awareness campaign known as REV-BLOOM.
The tourism campaign is basically about arousing community involvement and participation for the re-blooming and re-greening of Baguio City and its immediate environs, and extends all throughout the Cordilleras.
Meanwhile, Maybank’s float, which featured a tiger representing power and energy in nature, bagged the first prize in the Small Float Category.
Maybank, a first time participant, bested nine other floats in the Small Float Category.
Brandboss Incorporated’s (Coca-Cola) float which represented the wave of different emotions that come about when seeing something beautiful, took the second best honor and Asus Philippines’ float, which featured the Asus Zenfone caravan and its character Zenny, was adjudged third.
Domogan said this year’s parade was generally peaceful and orderly, and drew more tourists than the previous years.
Domogan attributed the peacefulness and orderliness of the grand parade to the concerted efforts of all those involved in the planning, conceptualizing, and implementation of the festival, and stressed the importance of working together in producing successful results.
“I hope what we have seen will continue to inspire each and every one of us so that we will not only do it during Panagbenga but also in our respective lives, and continue to perform the best,” Domogan said.
