‘Bato’ declared son of Mountain Province

BONTOC, MT. PROVINCE – The local government of Mountain Province in its 50th founding anniversary celebration Friday, declared Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa its “adopted son”.

In his address during the province’s anniversary celebration, dela Rosa said, ”I am very much honored to become an adopted son of Mt. Province and thank you very much for making your province drug-free.”

The opening program was led by local government officials Congressman Maximo Dalog and Governor Boni Lacwasan and graced by guests including Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Falconi Millar, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Marie Banaag, Kalinga Governor Jocel Baac, Kalinga Vice-Governor James Edubba, and the Regional Development Council (RDC) members.

Congressman Maximo Dalog, Sr. acknowledged the support of President Duterte’s administration to the region’s pursuit of autonomy through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPPAP) Press Secretary Jesus Dureza and Senate President Koko Pimentel.

Dalog called on everyone to continue to unite in solidarity as a people as he reiterated his call for a Cordillera Autonomous Region.

Lacwasan Jr. said the 50th founding anniversary of the province and the Lang-ay Festival 2017 are avenues for them to further strengthen their bond as a people and to recollect the past.

”These events are for us to deepen our appreciation and to protect our cultural heritage as these mark the province’s identity,” Lacwasan added. Dionisio Dennis/PNA-northboundasia.com
