MANILA — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced on Tuesday that application forms for those who will register for the 2017 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections are now available online.
With this, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez urged the public to make use of the early release of the forms, which can be downloaded from the poll body’s website at www.comelec.gov.ph.
“Registration starts on November 7, but application forms are available for download as early as now. We encourage everyone to download registration forms and register early,” he said.
Jimenez noted there are various kinds of application forms available depending on the needs of the public.
“Applications for new voters, transfers, and reactivations are allowed for this registration period,” he said.
According to the Comelec website, the application forms have distinctive form colors, with the Application for New Registration being white; Application for Transfer / Transfer With Reactivation being green; Application for Reactivation being yellow; and Application for Application for Change / Correction of Entries being blue.
“These forms should be accomplished in three copies. It is important to ensure that all copies have the same written information,” it noted.
Upon accomplishing the form, the applicant should personally submit it before the city/municipal Election Officer (EO) that will process it and allow the capturing of his/her biometrics data as required by law.
The start of the filing of application forms at the Offices of the EOs is set on November 7.
The continuing voter registration will be until April 29, which will be held from Mondays to Saturdays, except on Dec. 24 and 25, 2016, and April 13 and 14, 2017. PNA-northboundasia.com
