ALLACAPAN, Cagayan — The Sangguniang Bayan here Friday declared the town of Allacapan in Cagayan province under a state of calamity after Tropical Storm Odette immersed 27 villages in floodwaters and destroyed 9, 680 hectares of rice fields.
In a special session, the municipal council passed Resolution No. 102 series of 2017, placing the town under a state of calamity after receiving the report of the Municpal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) on the damages left by “Odette”.
