LAOAG CITY —- At least 85 police investigators in Ilocos Norte are currently upgrading their skills and attitude to ensure that they are competent enough to investigate criminal complaints and cases.
With funding support from the Ilocos Norte government, the 45-day criminal investigation course started this week at the Takuat Training Center in San Nicolas town.
This formal training aims to address several concerns of the local police particularly the lack of competent and effective field investigators to work on a case and pursue it until it is finally resolved in court.
During the opening ceremony, Senior Board Member Matthew Joseph Manotoc who was invited as guest speaker, lauded the PNP’s intense anti-drug campaign and resolve to further increase crime solution and clearance efficiency through the provision of relevant investigative training skills to its police personnel.
Marcos said Ilocos Norte is fortunate for having a peaceful and orderly situation.
As part of the police’s continuing efforts to upgrade the skills competency of investigators, Marcos assured the provincial government will continuously support the PNP and recognize the need for investigators to become updated of the constantly changing laws, rules and regulations.
