8 SUSPECTED PUSHERS, USERS NABBED IN GENSAN RAID

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Nov. 25 (PNA) — Police operatives arrested eight suspected drug pushers and users in a raid at an alleged drug den in a crowded community here on Tuesday afternoon.

Sr. Insp. Richard Pabalinas, deputy chief of the city police’s criminal investigation branch (CIB), said Wednesday they nabbed the suspects at a house in Purok San Roque Silway in Barangay Dadiangas West following a drug buy-bust operation.

He identified the suspected pushers as Jimmy Dimaala and Gemma Cordova, who were included in the city’s drug watchlist.

The two initially sold a sachet of metamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a CIB agent who posed as buyer, he said.

The operatives recovered the PHP500 marked money from one of the suspects.

“We have long been monitoring the movements of these targets. We immediately launched the operation after confirming their involvement in the illegal drug trade,” Pabalinas said.

During the operation, CIB operatives arrested six other persons who were reportedly caught in act of using shabu in separate rooms at the house.

Pabalinas identified the suspects as Ricky Nites, Rizardo Henares, Walter John Niego, Jeffrey Cabila, John Abid and Michelle Cobrador.

Dimaala and Cordova will be charged with selling and possession of illegal drugs while the six other suspects will face charges of possession and participation in a drug session as provided for in Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.

The police said they will continue with their intensified operations in a bid to capture more high-value targets.

“We have ongoing surveillance operations and we’re working on more arrests and drug recoveries in the coming days,” he added. PNA
