BAYAMBANG — A seven-year-old girl drowned at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday in a swimming pool of a resort here.
The victim was identified as Janele Nadadoy, a Grade 2 pupil of Sitio Palacpalac. Barangay Buayaen, Bayambang, who must have slipped in the five-meter swimming pool of the Ariel and Fe Resort and Restaurant while she was walking on the ramp.
Investigation showed that the girl, who was attending a birthday party at the resort, excused herself to go to the restroom.
However, several minutes had passed and she had not returned to her seat.
The victim’s elder brother Kimjie, 15, a high school student, panicked and started looking for her in every corner of the resort.
The resort is owned by couple Ariel and Fe Cruz.
The victim was later on found floating in the swimming pool and retrieved at 4:30 p.m.
She was immediately brought by her relatives to Sto. Nino Hospital in Bayambang for treatment but doctors declared her already dead on arrival.
Parents of the victim said they will sue the owner of the resort for negligence. PNA
