CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — The all-out-war against illegal drugs in this province continues as seven armed drug dealers were killed while 43 other suspects were arrested in one day during the series of police operations known as “One Time Big Time” (OTBT).
Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., acting Bulacan police director, on Wednesday said that the series of OTBT operations was conducted in the province’s 14 towns and three cities.
Caramat said the targets of the anti-drug operations were known drug personalities, most of whom fell during buy bust operations and some during the implementation of search warrants issued by the courts.
He said seven armed drug dealers were killed when they tried to shoot it out with lawmen.
They were identified as Rod Mendoza alias “Diko” and Paul Bergonio “Jepet”, both of Norzagaray; one alias “Utoy” in Pandi; Jun Aryam Macapugay alias “Popeng” in the City of San Jose del Monte; Gilbert Aradanas alias “Don Don” in Marilao; Jade Flores alias “Edong” and a still unidentified suspect in Baliwag.
Caramat also disclosed that a total of 142 pieces of heat sealed transparent sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride); 16 firearms; 871 pieces of ammunition and other drug paraphernalia were recovered during the implementation of seven search warrant and 28 buy-bust and three other police operations.
Caramat said that local policemen are playing as a team in the all-out-war against the proliferation of illegal drugs.
He has also likened the Bulacan police’s war on drugs to a basketball team play.
“If you cannot score, for sure you will be put out by the coach, thus, there are some police chiefs being replaced,” Caramat said. PNA-northboundasia.com
