CAMP MELCHOR DELA CRUZ, GAMU, Isabela — The 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (51D-PA) Artillery Regiment based in this town is presently conducting a pre-qualifying examination to soldier applicants to join the said unit of the army division.
The pre-qualifying examination is comprised of 50% Mathematics, 25% Inductive Reasoning and 25% Basic English.
Lt. Col. Calixto Cadamo, Commander of Artillery Unit of 5ID, PA, said on Monday the recruitment program is part of the will of the President Duterte to strengthen the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Cadamo said one of the units of the Philippine Army, which is the Artillery Unit, is one of the priorities of the AFP to be strengthened.
He said the Artillery Unit of the Armed Forces of the Philippines needs at least 500 new soldiers to join the unit and 200 has already been recruited while the 300 slots are still to be filled up.
He said that in year 2020, the AFP will be using rockets and missiles and the soldiers who will take the command is the Artillery Unit of the AFP.
Cadano said he expects that the needed manpower for the artillery regiment will be filled up by end of August this year.
He called on all interested individuals who are college graduates to be part of the army artillery unit of the AFP. SCDilan/PNA-northboundasia.com
