LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — A company based in Metro Manila has expressed intent to build a solar energy project in Barangays San Bonifacio and San Roque in San Manuel town.
This was expressed in a letter to Governor Amado Espino III by Dr. Romel Carlos, president and chief executive officer of Pilipinas Newton Energy Corp. based in Taguig City.
The letter requested for a provincial endorsement for the development of the San Manuel 1 Solar Power Project located in Barangays San Bonifacio and San Roque with a capacity of 70 megawatts p (photo voltaic) which is equivalent to 50 megawatts.
The project includes an interconnection facility of seven-kilometer KV (kilovolt) line from the project site to National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Extra High Voltage station in Barangay Nagsaag, San Manuel.
Espino endorsed Carlos’ letter to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan which may invite the proponent to present its project before granting the endorsement.
