BACOLOD CITY — Five suspects yielded an estimated PHP800,000 worth of illegal drugs suspected to be “shabu” in a buy-bust operation Tuesday afternoon at Bartolome Street, Sharina Heights Subdivision in Barangay Taculing here, a report of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-18 showed.
RPDEU operatives headed by Inspector Joey Mara arrested a 17-year-old boy, a newly-identified drug personality who was the target subject, after he and his companion Reynald Debidi, 26, sold a sachet of “shabu” to a poseur-buyer for PHP500.
The three other suspects arrested included two 18-year-olds, and Angelo Garcanila, 21, who were holding a “pot session” inside the house who belonged to one to the minor’s grandfather.
The RPDEU-18 team, assisted by personnel of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Police Station 6 of Bacolod City Police Office, seized from the 17-year-old’s possession were 11 elongated sachets of “shabu” with an estimated weight of 85 grams amounting to PHP800,000 along with PHP5,500 cash and the PHP500 marked money.
Debidi was also found with two improvised tooters, a lighter, and a motorcycle.
The five suspects are detained at Police Station 6 in Barangay Taculing.
Meanwhile, the CDEU, headed by Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, on Tuesday filed charges against the three suspects arrested during the P2.1-million drug bust at Barangay Villamonte here on June 25.
John Jeryl Gemora, 21, was charged with sale and possession of drugs with violations of Sections 5 and 11, respectively of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
