MANILA, Philippines — Around 35,000 supporters welcomed United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) presidential candidate Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and UNA senatorial candidates as they visited Alabel, Sarangani and General Santos City.
In his speech in General Santos on Tuesday, Binay vowed to respect the right to life and uphold the welfare of women.
The Vice President cautioned voters against choosing candidates who promote violence to address criminality.
“Dapat maiangat ang buhay. Dapat mabuhay, hindi pinapatay. Kailangan tulungan mabuhay ang ating kapwa,” he further said.
Binay underscored the need for a leader who has the experience and capability to address poverty and alleviate the lives of Filipinos.
The UNA standard bearer vowed that under his presidency, poor Filipinos would receive free medicines, hospitalization, and other health services.
He also said students would get free textbooks, uniforms and school supplies.
Binay was joined by other UNA senatorial bets former Special Action Force director Getulio Napeñas Jr., labor lawyer Allan Montaño, broadcaster Rey Langit, Sulu Princess Jacel Kiram and Parañaque councilor Alma Moreno. Christopher Lloyd Caliwan/PNA/northboundasia.com
