33 drug pushers, users surrender to PNP-Aritao in Nueva Vizcaya

ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya — Thirty three suspected illegal drug personalities have voluntarily surrendered to the Aritao Police Station (APS) here after they were urged to submit themselves to police authorities.

Police Chief Inspector Joberman A. Videz, town police chief, on Monday said the coordination between the police and barangay officials has resulted in the surrender of the illegal drug personalities over the weekend.

Videz said the anti-drug drive dubbed “Oplan Double Barrel” is a move of the new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa in curbing illegal drug trades and activities in the country.

Videz also said the APS conducted house-to-house visits to suspected illegal drug pushers and users in the town and urged them to appear in the police station and vow not to engage anymore in activities involving illegal drugs.

The 33 illegal drug personalities, in their affidavit of undertaking, promised not to engage anymore in illegal drugs.

Videz advised them to be sincere in their promise as he warned them that returning to the illegal activity would result in a harsh move by the police.

Videz said that once they violate the pledge and continue their illegal drug activities, they will be facing charges once they are caught.

The 33 illegal drug personalities will attend an orientation tomorrow (July 12) at the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Police Office (NVPPO). PNA/northboundasia.com
