CAMP OSCAR FLORENDO, La Union –Police Chief Supt, Romulo E. Sapitula , Ilocos Regional Director of the Philippine National Police, administered the oath of office of 315 police recruits at the Police Regional Office 1(PRO1) Grandstand last October 22 at 10:00 in the morning.
In his message, Supt Sapitula said that as police officers, the cops are expected to protect and respect human rights as they perform their duties and live with the maxim that PRO1 is the “Home of the Citizen Friendly Policemen and Protectors of Human Rights.”
He also emphasized to the recruits to make every challenge as their inspiration, and that hardships are always part of success. “It is where you will start creating change- to improve yourself contributes to the improvement of the whole police organization. Keep in mind that every effort you will do, every step you make towards being a truly transformed person leads to a bigger and better change,” he added.
Before their actual deployment, the police recruits, composed of 70 females and 254 males, will undergo the six(6) months Public Safety Basic Recruit Course and another six(6) months for the Field Training Program at the Regional Training Center 1 in Aringay, La Union.
While undergoing training, the lowest rank(PO1) in the PNP organization receives a monthly basic pay of P29,668.00 exclusive of allowance. Valerine Fay Paculan/Northbound Philippines News
