The deaths were reported in different parts of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
“In Uttar Pradesh, at least 30 people were killed and dozens others injured during Holi revelry in different parts of the state in the past two days, as cops failed to avert firing, group clashes and drunken driving,” the broadcaster said.
According to the broadcaster, 19 people were killed in the state’s capital city Lucknow alone in group clashes and road accidents because of drunken driving.
“Two people also died in group clashes in Madiaon and Gosaiganj areas, while over 40 people were injured in accidents and clashes,” the AIR said.
