BACOLOD CITY — Three suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation that yielded PHP1.05 million worth of hard drugs “shabu” here late Monday afternoon.
The suspects are Rashed Tantua, 24, and Nelrose Salita, 24, a couple who owns 2K Cell Shop at Libertad Market, as well as their 19-year-old employee.
Operatives of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Inspector Adrian James Albaytar arrested Tantua and Salita who sold and received the payment for PHP500 worth of “shabu” bought by a police agent around 4:00 p.m.
Found in the couple’s possession were 16 big sachets of “shabu” while seized from their employee were five sachets of a similar substance.
Tantua and the employee are members of the Muslim community based in Barangay 30 in this city.
The three suspects are included in the police watchlist as street level target drug personalities.
Albaytar said they were identified during a tactical interrogation of other arrested drug suspects in Bacolod.
Authorities said charges are being readied against the three before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
Last June 27, five suspects in this city yielded an estimated PHP800,000 worth of “shabu” in a buy-bust at Sharina Heights Subdivision in Barangay Taculing conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
