3 suspects arrested, PHP420,000 worth of drugs seized in Butuan City raid

BUTUAN CITY — Three suspects were arrested and a sizable volume of illegal drugs worth thousands of pesos was seized as a joint police team raided a residence at a central city village on Wednesday morning.

A report from Butuan City Police Office said that joint team of the Butuan City Police Station 1, Butuan City Public Safety Company and the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) Team swooped at a residence 8:02 a.m. on Wednesday at Purok 1, Villasor, Brgy. San Ignacio, this city on the strength of a search warrant issued by Judge Marigel Dagani-Hugo of RTC Branch 3, 10th Judicial Region dated October 3.

The police operatives arrested Rommel Bastillo Nemeno, alias “Botsokoy” 37, resident of the said place. The police team confiscated from his possession an estimated 8 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP94,400.00 and several drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Manjie Bastilla Nemeno, 44; who was the subject of another search warrant issued by Judge Eduardo Casals of RTC Branch 1, 10th Judicial Region, dated October 5.

The operating team likewise apprehended Irish Jumillo Murphy, 39; a resident of Purok Ma-abiabihon, Brgy. Agusan Pequeno, who was in the area during the police operation. Confiscated from his possession are 29 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP324, 200.00 and several drug paraphernalia.
