3 suspected drug offenders gunned down in Batangas

NASUGBU, Batangas — Police are still investigating the case of three suspected drug offenders who were shot dead by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen while they were walking along a Johndel Subdivision road in Barangay Bucana here on Monday dawn.

Nasugbu Police Station commander Chief Inspector Rogelio B. Pineda identified the three victims as Rebeccah Riñoza Mallari alias “Tokne”, a widow and a Johndel subdivision resident; Demetrio Alarcon of Barangay Looc and Gemma Calingasan Flores, 46, resident of Barangay 7, all in Nasugbu.

The two victims Mallari and Alarcon who were rushed to the Jabez Medical Center were pronounced dead on arrival and hospital authorities reported to the Nasugbu police the shooting incident on Monday morning.

Senior Inspector Joel Bunquin Ilagan with his investigators PO2 Wilson Torres Mendoza and PO1 Ronnie Glen Camo Bagsic immediately responded to the crime scene to probe the shooting.

Investigators said the three victims were casually walking along the Johndel Subdivision when the unidentified assailants fired at them and then fled towards an unknown direction.

The third victim, Flores was rushed by the local residents to the Ospital ng Nasugbu but was declared dead on arrival according to the attending physician.

Police investigations showed the victims were all involved in illegal drug activities and were included in the Nasugbu police watch lists.
