3 La Union Students Bag Singapore International Math Competitions




SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – City Mayor Hermenegildo Gualberto gave due recognition to three public high school students in the province who won bronze medals in different international mathematics competitions in Singapore when they paid a courtesy call at the Mayor’s Office, City Hall on Friday.
 
The student mathematicians include Jayson D. Cerezo, a Grade 10 student of La Union National High School (LUNHS) and Maria Theresa P. Pacleb, a Grade 6 student of South Central Integrated School,who won bronze medals in the 2017 International Math Open for Young Achievers at United World College (IMOYA) held last September at Dover Campus, Singapore.
The third student, Jedric Campos, a junior high school of LUNHS also won a bronze medal in the 13th International Mathematics Contest (IME) last August.
 
LUNHS Principal Madeleine Corpuz, Head Teacher Dionisio Alcantara, Math Teacher Roegen Rivera, Senior High School Coordinator Precilda Sanchez, and Master Teacher Ramon Balcita accompanied the outstanding high schoolers. Northbound Philippines News – northboundasia.com
