3 killed in Albay road collision

LEGAZPI CITY — Three persons on board a motorcycle died on the spot after it collided with a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) at the national highway of Purok 1, Brgy. Cabunturan in Malinao town, Albay on Saturday afternoon, a police report said on Monday.

The victims were identified as Pedro Clet y Rosana, 52, a former member of Albay police and resident of Brgy.Libtong, Josely Cuentas, 43, and Jose Cantor,52, all of Brgy.Libjo.

All of them suffered head and body injuries.

Chief Inspector Arthur Gomez, chief of investigation division and spokesperson of the Albay Police Provincial Office, said the tragic incident occurred at 4:56 p.m. Saturday.

The motorcycle, driven by Clet with two back riders, was cruising the highway bound for Tiwi town when suddenly an SUV with plate number AJA-332 driven by Jimmy Borlagdan of Brgy. Sugod, Tiwi was negotiating the highway bound for Tabaco City.
