LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN, Philippines — Three persons, one of them a security guard, were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and the Commission on Election (Comelec) gunban on Good Friday in separate towns of Pangasinan.
The police reported that the security guard, Henry Ablao, 42, and his brother Jerico Ablao, 33, a farmer, were arrested at 11:40 a.m. on March 25 in Barangay Calitlitan, Umingan in possession of one Squires Bingham rifle, one Caliber 22 revolver with three live ammunition and an air gun rifle.
They were arrested by elements of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) based in Tayug, who were called upon by concerned citizens who panicked when they saw the brothers carrying firearms while walking in the street.
Both suspects failed to show any document for their firearms when accosted by the police.
The other suspect was identified as Marcos Diaz, 44, who was arrested by the police while they were responding to a trouble in Barangay Malimpuec, Lingayen at 8:30 p.m. on Good Friday.
The suspect was found in possession of one Armscor 12-gauge body guard, three live ammunition for shotgun, and one air gun without trade name.
Cases for violation of RA 10591 and Comelec Resolution 1015 are now being prepared by the police against all the suspects. PNA / northboundasia.com
