3 Fires break out in Pangasinan on All Saints’ Day

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Three fires occurred in separate parts of Pangasinan at 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 1 when some of the residents were visiting the tombs of their dead kin in the cemeteries.

One of these conflagrations occurred in the house of one Danilo Cancino, a farmer, located in Barangay Caviernesan, Mangatarem which was purportedly arson-related and caused by Cancino himself.

The fire was discovered by a certain Ando Vegilla, also a resident of the place, who tagged Cancino as the one who set the fire in his house.

Also totally razed by fire were appliances, assorted clothes, kitchenware and one Honda TMX motorcycle, all of still undetermined amount.

The suspect/owner of the house fled right after the incident.

Also on November 1 at about 4:10 p.m., the house of Darwin Villoria, 63, at Sison Street in Barangay Poblacion East, Alcala, Pangasinan was also razed to the ground.

Viloria said all members of her family were inside his house when the fire broke and had to evacuate.

The damage of the house and personal properties of the Villoria family was more or less PHp 300,000. The house was made of light materials.

The fire was put off by combined personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bayambang, Rosales, Bautista, Villasis, and Alcala Fire Station.

Cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

Also on Nov. 1 at about 7:20 p.m., a concerned citizen informed the Bayambang Police Station by phone that the house of one Mrs. Ronalyn Estrada was being razed by fire.

Estrada left their house and forgot to put off a lighted candle that allegedly caused the conflagration.

This rapidly spread out in the whole area, which was made of combustible materials.

The blaze was put off by firemen from Bayambang, San Carlos and Malasiqui Fire Stations at about 8:00 p.m. that day. Estimated cost of damages is still undetermined. PNA
