CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan –Three alleged members of a local dope gang operating in this city were killed after engaging police operatives in a gunfight during an anti-drug sting in Pabahay 2000, Barangay Muzon here Friday afternoon.
In a report to Bulacan acting police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., Supt. Fitz Macariola, San Jose Del Monte City police chief on Saturday said the slain suspects were Richard Galon, 37, resident of Pabahay 2000, Barangay Muzon; a certain alias “Botong” and one alias “Dodo”.
Macariola said that prior to the armed encounter, a police team led by P03 Noel Estanislao of the City Drug Enforcement Group (CDEG) conducted a buy bust operation against suspect Galon.
After completing the drug deal to a police undercover agent, Macariola said Galon noticed the sting and without warning drew a handgun and fired against the lawmen while retreating back to his house.
“The police team gave chase but were fired upon by two more suspects identified only as one alias “Bodong” and one alias “Dodo”. The lawmen returned fire resulting to the deaths of the three suspects,” Macariola said.
No casualty was reported on the police team.
Macariola said police recovered one cal.45 pistol, one .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, one improvised shotgun loaded with spent shells and two live ammunition and several plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
He said a SOCO team from the Bulacan PNP Crime Laboratory processed the site of the armed encounter as well as the evidences.EMIL GAMOS/PNA – northboundasia.com
