CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan — The dope war in this province continues to sizzle as police anti-narcotics operatives killed three armed suspected drug dealers in San Rafael and in the City of San Jose del Monte while eight other drug suspects were arrested in different police operations Wednesday.
Bulacan acting police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., on Thursday identified the slain suspects as Mark Lester Marimon, 26, a resident of Barangay Tambubong; Julius Avela, 26, of Barangay Caingin, both in San Rafael town; and Ronald Francis Gariando alias “Botong”, 28, a native of Manila and presently residing in Robes II, Barangay Graceville, City of San Jose Del Monte.
Supt. Rizalino Andaya, acting Chief of Police of San Rafael Municipal Police Station, said that an encounter ensued between operatives and three drug personalities– Marimon, Avela and May Ann Garcia when the latter sensed that they were transacting with police officers.
The suspects fired towards the operatives that prompted the law enforcers to retaliate, resulting in the death of Marimon and Avela while their cohort Garcia was arrested.
Recovered were eight transparent plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”; two caliber .38 revolver (Colt and Smith & Wesson) without serial number; seven fired cartridge cases, seven fired cartridge cases of caliber 9mm, buy-bust money and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The arrested suspect and seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination.
In the City of San Jose Del Monte, Supt. Fitz Macariola reported that Gariando was killed in an encounter during a buy bust operation.
Investigation revealed that the suspects, upon resisting arrest, immediately ran and fired several times towards the police officers, prompting the operatives to fire back, which resulted in the death of Gariando while his unidentified cohort managed to escape.
Recovered from the crime scene were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one caliber .45 Armscore handgun with serial no. 1326062 loaded with one cartridge, and three cartridge cases.
Meanwhile, eight other drug suspects were arrested in different police operations conducted in the towns of Balagtas, San Ildefonso, Paombong, Bulakan, Norzagaray, and Obando.
Recovered during the operations were 13 small and five medium-sized transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one self-sealing zip lock plastic sachets of suspected dried “marijuana” leaves with fruit tops; buy-bust money and assorted drugs paraphernalia.
The arrested suspects were identified as Justine Galang ; Herminio Villanueva; Manolito Trinidad; Raszel Bayan; Henry Lee Luis ; Joseph Sarmiento; Mary Jane Francisco; and Jerwin Natividad.
Appropriate criminal complaints against the suspects were filed before the City/Provincial Prosecutors Office of Bulacan. PNA-northboundasia.com
