CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — Three students were killed when the motorcycle they were riding crashed head-on with a 10-wheeler truck in the town of Bansud, Oriental Mindoro Wednesday morning.
In a report, Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police Director Senior Superintendent Christopher Birong identified the student fatalities as Mico Rivas, 17, motorcycle driver; with backriders Niel Peradilla, 23 and Rommel Mansalapus, 18.
According to Senior Supt. Birong, the three were travelling to Bongabong town heading towards Bansud around 7:45 a.m. when Rivas lost control of the handle bar.
This caused the motorcycle to swerve to the opposite side of the road and collide head-on with an approaching 10-wheeler truck along the national highway of Sub-village Malamig, Salcedo Village in Bansud.
Police investigation reported the three coeds died on the spot because of the impact of the collision. ROSELLE AQUINO/PNA-northboundasia.com
