3 arrested in Pangasinan for illegal possession of firearms, explosives

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — Three persons were arrested by the police in separate towns of Pangasinan for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition as well as explosives.

This was after lawmen simultaneously served search warrants in their respective houses in the early morning of Aug. 1, the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) reported Wednesday.

One of the suspects now in custody of the police will be charged with illegal possession of ammunition and illegal possession of explosives.

He is Jessie Naval Javier, 54, farmer, of Barangay Baybay, Aguilar, whose houses were served two separate search warrants. The first resulted in the seizure of five ammunition for caliber 5.56 rifle (Armalite) and the other for the seizure of one M-203 grenade.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Republic Act. No. 10591 and RA 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.

Also arrested in another search warrant served by the police was one Marvin Orlanda, 33, from whose house in Barangay Zaragoza, Bolinao one home-made caliber .38 revolver with four live ammunition in its chamber was found by the raiders.

Also arrested was Jimmy Esteban, 47, following the seizure of one caliber .45 pistol with magazine containing two live ammunition from his house in Barangay San Maximo, Natividad. Leonardo Micua/PNA-northboundasia.com
