DAGUPAN CITY — Two vital projects funded by the city government are due for inauguration in the next few days, according to Mayor Belen Fernandez.
These are the Library Hub and the adjacent Women’s Center, both along Bonifacio Street whose finishing touches were delayed a little bit because of the election.
Mayor Belen Fernandez inspected these projects before leaving for Spain on a short vacation.
The Library Hub is a joint project of the city government with the Department of Education (DepEd), which will provide all the needed books for use of pupils and students in both public and private schools.
The women center shall promote wellness for all women to enhance their health and welfare.
Other city projects that are ongoing are elevation of low-lying street that are often underwater during the rainy season, including when tidal water rises.
The elevation of Nable Street fronting the Pangasinan Medical Center already started but was delayed for a while because of the election.
Another project is an evacuation center in Barangay Salapingao funded under the Bottoms Up Budgeting (BUB) program with counterpart from the city government
Fernandez said next on the line is the new government center in Dagupan which would have already been started had the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) was already approved. PNA/northboundasia.com
